Our general meetings are the perfect opportunity to dive into the world of astronomy, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and stay updated on club activities.

Come Look: Public Star Parties

Experience the wonders of the night sky firsthand with our "Astronomy in the Park" star parties.

Telescope Viewing

Direct observation of celestial objects through powerful telescopes provided by LVAS members. Often with an additional presentation.

No Equipment Needed

Just bring your curiosity! We provide all the necessary viewing equipment.

(Generally free but occasional registration or parking fee needed.)

Variable Locations & Dates

Events are held at various dark-sky locations and on different dates monthly to optimize weather and observing.

Monthly-ish schedule

We tend to skip December.
And events are subject to cancellation due to adverse weather conditions.

Good for:

Families looking for a unique experience

First-timers who want to look through a telescope

Anyone wanting a taste of visual/practical amateur astronomy or to be around an observing group

Come Observe: Dark-Sky Trips

Longer observing sessions under darker skies; typically outside of Las Vegas.

Come Help: Volunteer Opportunities

Lend a hand and share your passion for astronomy!

Share Views Through Your Telescope

Open up the universe to others by guiding them through your telescope during public events.

Bring the wonders of space to schools and local community groups through engaging presentations and activities.

Look for EOP Events on the LVAS Calendar

Find specific Educational Outreach Program (EOP) opportunities and sign up to participate.
